Two Plays and a TV Show

This weekend Mr Swami and I saw two small venue plays. The first one was kind of lame but I realy enjoyed the second which was basically about Olde Tyme Radio and included a whole bunch of clasic radio bits, like 'Who's on First' and episodes of old time radio serials. I especially enjoyed that they kept interupting the performances with people jingle singing commercials for stuff like Ajax The Foaming Cleanser. A very motley looking cast - but they all had great radio voices.

I remember my parents talking about how much they enjoyed radio shows when they were kids. I suppose some day we will be telling our kids & grandkids about Olde Tyme Television while they boggle that we used to watch stuff on a flat screen!

Last night we watched the season finale of Battlestar Galactica. At the end of the show they said it would not start up again until 2008! WTF is up with that!?! We're not even through the first quarter of this year and we have to wait to see what happens next until 2008? Just seems stupid to me.

I don't have cable so I am just happy that Battlestar has finally finished. Let's get the boxed sets into the stores pronto so I can find out what happened during season 3!

I saw a similar, if not the same, play about Old Tyme Radio. I think it was called Radio Days. It was supposed to have taken place in 1941. A lady sitting near me asked me how old I was in '41. *snort*

So Puffy, how old were you?

I love live theatre in small venues. I'm amazed that people can stand in front of other people and talk.
