I'm a Dirty, Dirty Girl.

Really dirty.

This is week two of life without that miracle of modern technology, that supreme technological achievement - a clothes washing machine. Oh, how I miss my lovely, lovely Asko. Also? Beating clothes on rocks is sucky, hard work.

On the bright side - I am trying out some new looks! I found some old favorite t-shirts from the 80s that still look pretty good. Sometimes, with a carefully placed safety pin, you can wear old, saggy pants. Sheesh,

At least panties are easy. You can wash a whole bunch of those in a bowl in the kitchen sink, no problems.

We had a major part failure. To fox it is almost half the cost of new machine but we opted to fix it because the washer & dryer pair are supposed to go for another 8 years. I like 'em, and I don't want to buy just a new washer and then have an unmatched set, and I don't want to spend big bucks on an all-new set. Sadly, it appears that the part I need is being shipped from Sweden on a Viking ship. An express Viking ship! But it's still taking too long. Damn Vikings.

So that's where I have been. Beating clothes on a rock.
