It's Official
We are having the driest May since 1891. Have I mentioned how much I hate dragging hoses around? Well, I'm mentioning it now.

I am so lame.
I made a little animated movie. It's silly but I had fun doing it. Also? It's kind of an apology for an accidental insult to someone I hold very dear.

Randoms
Because I haven't for a while.
1. Memorial Day weekend is no big deal around here. Yes, we will grill. That's about it.
2. I love that Prius commercial where multiple peoples in elaborate costumes seem to embody fields of grass & trees & flowers & clouds & butterflies & eventually the whole globe! I could watch it for hours.
3. Eating pork loin while watching the 2-part season finale of Criminal Minds turned out to be poor choice of meats. I am rarely repelled be the topics of some of my fav proceedural shows - but this one? Yuck. Very good show. And YUCK!
4. It I don't turn off my front sprinkler soon the mailman may decline to deliver my mail. He delivers thru rain & storm & gloom & stuff - but not lawn sprinklers. Too hazardous.
5. Finally, The Fashion Show contestants produced an article of clothing I considered wearable. That tweed coat. Either the show enlisted contestants based solely on their kinky photogenicity, without regard to design ability = or it takes a Tim Gunn to be sure that fashion happens regularly.
5. Visit to see Grandma on the farm tomorrow has been cancelled. Mr Swami's owie hamstring pull has morphed into severe sciatic nerve pain. He actually took 2 days off work this week! He only took 5 days off for his appendectomy. He is having ultra-sound therapy and just nods patiently every time I ask him if it's a boy or a girl.
6. Our lawn is now about 8 inches long. DD will ride to the rescue tomorrow. Probably, she will delegate it to her boyfriend. We don't care as long as it gets mowed.
7. After 4 months I think I am finally starting to play Bridge pretty well.
8. My absolute most favorite neighbor in the world, who was my other mother when I was growing up has a malignant tumor in her inner thigh. Treatment shrank it some. They are still not quite sure when, how or if they will do a surgical intervention. She is 85 years old. It will be like losing my mom all over again whenever Clarice finally passes.
9. Today is an absolute perfect day. If the whole weekend goes like this there will be rejoicing across the entire state of MN.
10. For lunch I am going to have a roast beef sandwich on whole wheat bread, with butter, iceberg lettuce & maybe tomato.
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend!

I Have Lilac Envy
Lilacs are in full bloom around here - great big blooming bushes of heavenly scented purple flowers. I really, really want some. Really! I can't grow them in my yard since lilacs don't like to grow in a coniferous forest - all that shade & acid soil.
One of my neighbours used to let me pick a big bouquet from his bushes every spring but last year he did some major landscaping that involved pulling out his lilac row. Now I am deprived. Stupid neighbour.
Seriously, while I am out driving I find myself estimating how likely it is I would get caught if I just pulled over and quick picked lilacs from someone else's property. I just.want.lilacs.dammit. I grew up with lilacs. I need lilacs.

Mr Swami Has An Owie
Mr Swami somehow pulled a muscle in his calf while inventing a new Tai Chi move. As a type A+++ person he is always pushing, so even simple exercises can become extreme. Now he is limping around the house and working from home today because sitting in the car for 45 minutes to drive into work would just tie his calf into knots.
Poor Mr Swami. He would love sympathy comments to read on my blog. He is a great admirerer of my bloggy friends. (Sometimes a bit jealous too.)
Also? My whole house smells like a tube of muscle rub. I kind of like the scent, and it also clears my sinuses!

Slow Week
I am taking a Slow Week this week. We self-employed people can do that whenever we want - and I want! Those hussy garden centers keep waving their fancy flowers at me and I lust to get me some! They are bright colors & sweets scents & irresistably gorgeous.
I want baskets of Million Belles & Impatiens. For bedding plants I need more Impatiens, Cigar Plants (red), Salvia, Nicotiana and maybe Cosmos. Even though I said I wasn't going to plant much of anything this year and just let the perennials have all the garden glory - I just can't resist those hot, sexy annuals!

Today, In Bathroom Events News...
A lady in the stall beside me may have died from terminal farting. I swear - she must have emitted 3 - 4 cubic feet of gas. I didn't know people could do that! and I think she must have deflated herself to death.
Later, in another bathroom, as I am quietly sitting & doing my pee two women come in with what sounds like about 40 kids. Lots of stall-door slamming and kids talking too loud about whose turn it is and what exactly they are doing in their stall. Then one of the moms calls out, "Who wants a chocolate?" I almost fell off the seat. What kind of moron passes out chocolates to a bunch of kids in a public bathroom? Lol!
We frequent pee-ers really see the dark side of humanity.

Oh, Bummer
DD is miscarrying her baby even as I type. She's doing it at home (her home, in another state) and talking it through with a midwife. Does not want to go to the hospital as mom (me) recommends. She's losing it at about 10 weeks, just like last time. Why she refuses to get pathology I have no idea. Stupid New Age Whatever. I? Am all about the science.
Looks like grandson will be an only child.

It's Been Thirty+ Years in the Making...
...but I am tired of cooking. I would like to be served all my meals for the rest of my life, and only cook maybe 3-4 times a month just for fun. I have not told Mr Swami this news yet, although hints of it are fairly evident. I'm just done. Fini. There is no joy (or even faint pleasure) in the whole process anymore.

I Just Got A Very Short Haircut!
And I blame that nice blog person, Tummy. :) She just inspires me in general.
