I love living in the sticks. I can open my back door and shoot at crows right from the family room. Don't even need to pull my boots on! You city folks can't do stuff like that.
Well, maybe you can but you'd get arrested.

We shoot the squirrels in my parent's back yard. Except for Peanut. He's become a family pet of sorts.
Could you shoot the neighbor's rooster, turkeys and chickens for me?

You aren't supposed to shoot the birds, though, Swami. There's some old wives tale about this, but I don't remember what it is.
I shoot at crows because crows like to nest in a colony and I DO NOT want a crow rockery in my backyard.
Every spring they try to move in, and every spring we shoot at them. They like my yard because it is one of the nicest stands of tall pines within a few miles - and this is their prefered nesting situation.
Not too far from here we have a neighbor who is a weekend/summer resident only, and has a rookery in his backyard. It's amazing how much birdshit a bunch of crows can produce. Old wives be damned! *pops the safety off*

My Dad wishes he could shoot the seagulls around his house. They drive him crazy for some reason. Funny thing is that when he's in Florida they don't bother him. I asked him about it once and he said that's because seagulls belong in Florida, not in his field.
I shoot them with a glorified, super-charged pellet gun. So I don't accidently shoot up my neighbors.
I do not shoot from a rocking chair although if I could shoot from my Lazy Boy I might consider that!
Mostly I miss but the crows do know the worst case4 scenario so they flee the yard at once.
