This is the before pic. Isn't winter beautiful? I love my yard when it looks like a winter wonderland! There is a snow-buried driveway out there, lol.
Not exactly the same perspective but this snow melt flowing over the same yard. Part of the driveway is under about 10" of water; normally the drive sits about 3 feet above a small trout stream which is currently waaaay over its banks - and the drive! (We have a circular drive that hooks up to two private roads so we were not trapped because the other end of the drive was clear.)
The trout stream is usually 3 - 4 ft across. It flooded yesterday at about 30 ft wide across my yard because temps jumped into the high 50s with lots of sunshine. This morning the stream is back in its banks but roaring along and about 10 feet wide.
The snow is only half gone so if today is as warm as yesteday was we will have a repeat flood!

Hi Captain Swami! Time to get the boat out! Eeek, I thought that was all SUPPOSED to be water covered. There's quite a bit of standing water around the area, but it's slowly drining away. You had a lot more snow than we did, though. I just wish the one giant snow bank in our front yard would go away. It was a spot Chris really plowed high.
Kim, Tom and I always joke that we don't need to worry about floods nearly as much as people who DON'T have a boat stored in their yard do.
Is the first picture taken in B & W or is it in color? They're both beautiful pictures. *turns on sprinklers*
What a beautiful piece of land you have Swami.
I wish we had pine trees on our property. They are 98% hardwoods so it's pretty barren in the wintertime.

I love that first pic! Sadly, we didn't have any pretty snow like that this year. We just had the annoying stuff that wasn't enough to close school all day and either slushed over quickly or froze solid and made for nightmare road conditions. *pout*
That yard is beautiful (in the first pic). I love the bridge.
The second pic gives me the willies - flood waters are nasty.
I can't wait to see a summer picture.
