1. My political leanings. Hint: look left. No - more left! More, more... feel the burn? There I am!!! *waves*
2. I am becoming a coffee addict. I used to drink just two cups every morning (one to open my eyes and one to start my heart) but now I just keep drinking it until about 2 pm, which is my personal cut-off time if I want to fall asleep that night. And yes, coffee is a diuretic.
3. Sarah Palin is George Bush in lipstick. Really, she would govern just like he does, of which governing I have had enough.
4. I love my new bedsheets! They are a green (my favorite color) cotton that is so well polished they look like raw silk. And feel like silk! They even get covered in fine wrinkles like raw silk.
5. I also love my food processor salads. These days my garden salads are about 40% (by volume) thinly sliced green & red peppers, celery, carrots, red onions, garlic, cukes, etc - all sliced to perfection in about 40 seconds. Toss with romaine and tomatoes and voila - salad! I can't believe I didn't buy a food processor for years because I "like" cutting things with a knife. What a dummy I was! If you don't have a food processor by now, go buy one today! I love it for stir-fry making too.
I just thought of five more things. Maybe I'll save them for next friday.

I Am Going Deaf
1. Keeping 4 parakeets in the same room where you watch tv is hazardous to your health. They regard all tv shows as sing-along events. They sing, I turn the volume up. They sing louder, I turn the volume up higher. Something has to give soon while I still have functional hearing.
2. Huh? Did you say something?
3. I need to stay the hell away from eBay.
4. Tom and I are going up to the Norwegian Riviera this weekend! Aka the north shore of Lake Superior. It's the Annual Hawk Migration.
Hawk Ridge is one of the top three raptor migration sites in the United States, behind Corpus Christi, Texas, and a site near Grosse Ile, Mich. About 94,000 raptors pass over Duluth each fall.
Each fall, 18,000 people come to Duluth to witness the hawk migration.

Friday Stuff
1. A list a day keeps the doctor away.
2. There is no such thing as a spiney, undersea, edible cucumber. Probably.
3. I think Mr Swami lost a boatload of money in the stock market this week, but he's not ready to talk about it. Looks like our stocky nest egg will need a much smaller handbasket.
4. In a related development we now own Radio Shack's finest system for recording phone calls, lol.
5. I have switched grocery stores because I don't like the bathroom in my old grocery store. How strange is that? The tp dispensor is mounted so close to the floor that you need 2 elbows in order to reach the paper.
6. I'm glad Jerry is out. Go Dan!!!
7. DD's trophies are going into basement storage. She has a boatload of ribbons and trophies from JHS, HS & travelling basketball that have decorated our Family Room wall for the past almost 10 years. I think I will replace them with my Breyer Horse collection.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

I Half A Hair In My Mouf !
1. And it drove me crazy all morning! Took for.ever. to fish it out - I was salivated up to the wrist before I finally fished that puppy out. Actually, I think it was pussy. A 3 & 1/2 inch pussy hair. I blame my kitty Tippy Toes who is the only pussy in this house with 3 inch long, superfine straight black hair. Do you ever get those superfine, hard-to-find hairs stuck in your mouth? Ick.
2. Yes, I washed my hands before I touched the keyboard.
3. I am in love with this woman, Sarah Maddow:

Her show is on MSNBC M-F at 8 PM CT, and repeats at 3AM CT which is when I DVR it to watch with my morning coffee. She is super-smart, super quick-witted, super-funny and (when needed) ruthlessly direct. All lefites should love her!
(Lefite is my new favorite word.)
4. I am going to number everything for a while because:
a) I like numbers
b) It makes me look organized.
and
c) It's my blog and I can number things if I want to.

And I'm Back
1. Screw vegeteables. I have spent my entire summer picking over, washing, repicking and rewashing fresh veggies. So last night I made chicken with a bottled masala simmer sauce I got from Trader Joe's (impulse buy) and plain white rice. No veggies in sight. Heavenly.
2. Can an old woman go shopping at HomeGoods in camel toe pants? Too late - I'm going just the way I am.
3. I think I may like Rachel Maddow as a talking head.
Only three points - but it's a start. How you been?

I Am On Hiatus
Not sure why, but there it is. I'm not doing anything worth talking about anyways - cleaning out and re-orging all my kitchen cupboards. I am going to alphabetize my spices, which is just whacko - but I am looking forward to it.
I think I am going to turn off my tv until after the election. I am so sick of the intense & weird negativity of the Talking Head Clans. I want TAR & Survivor to start up again so I can get back to my own version of reality, lol.
