A Thursday List

1. Because what better way is there to show Boo I love her & miss her while she's in Beantown?

2. Weltek too. Note to self: eat cheese for lunch.

3. Why is there never a box of kleenex by the computer? I put a box of kleenex by the 'puter at least once a week! Okay - this shouldn't be a point but I had to interrupt my list making to go get a box.

4. Yesterday I gassed up my minivan and drove into the big bad city to visit my son's sheltered work space. He has such good people there, and that makes me happy!

5. After our little meeting I was thanking the various people who attended for doing a good job, having a good idea, etc., when one of them said to me "I love coming to Max meetings. They're not all like this, you know." Turns out, some people get angry. That made me sad. It is my experience that the overwhelming number of individuals who work with handicapped people genuinely care about them - so I don't get it. I guess there are many parents who get angry at the educational and/or work support staff for not doing "enough" to make their kid fit in better.

6. Before the 1 pm meeting I popped into Taco Bell for lunch. This is a big treat for me because I so rarely do fast food and I am the only one in my family likely to pick Taco Bell on the rare occasions that we do stop for fast food. So I had a strawberry mango frieze and a spicy chicken burrito. Frieze was delicious! Way better than I was expecting! The burrito tasted okay, but after the meeting lead to an unfortunate convenience store restroom visit I don't want to talk about.

7. I also drove by the apartment building where DD and her BF will be moving next week - it's about a mile and a half from son's workplace. It looked like a very nice place, in a neighborhood with nice grounds and trees and stuff. Most importantly? It looked like a safe area! So she made a good choice.

8. I will miss her a lot when she moves out - but at the same time I can't wait for her to be gone! I guess that makes me a happy schitzo.

9. I am going to get some pet birds. I am checking Craigslist every day and also Stillwater is having a Bird Fair on Sept 13th so I figure by the end of Sept I should have my birds.

10. My oldest daughter & grandson are coming for a week-long visit again! DD will help me do some fall landscaping (and get a bunch of divided and/or no-longer-wanted perennials for her reward) and whatever else I want her to do.

11. She will sleep in my new Guest Room! I hope middle DD isn't hurt by how fast I turn her bedroom into a guest room, lol. But I need a guest room. I will make it partly a shrine to her (all her basketball trophies) so that should help.

12. Are we allowed to end on 11?

You need to get up to get a kleenex so you get some exercise.

I'd rather stop in a fast food restaurant than a gas station restroom.

The only thing that craigslist has done for me is spam emails.

Yay on the productive Max meeting and the guest bedroom!

I haven't strayed more than a few feet from a box of kleenex this week. *sigh*

"unfortunate convenience store restroom visit" <---- what made me fall in love with Swami in the first place *snoooooort*

*waves @ Tom too*

You needed the Kleenex because you shed some "I miss Boo & Weltek" tears, right? *smooch*

I'm glad the place your son works is a great place and the people are good. That can make such a wonderful difference for both your son and YOU!

I sometimes get a Taco Bell craving. Chris said their new fajita burritos are good. I'm also a fan of the Baja chicken Gordita.

You are my favorite. And you can certainly end on 11.

I actually thought I had already responded to this. I get so confused sometimes.
