Happy Pie Day to You

And Happy Turkey Day tomorrow.

Today I will make 2 pumpkin pies and one strawberry pie. This is three of the approximately five pies I make each year. We put Cool Whip on top. *waves to Coco*

I have Cool Whip too! *grin*

I will be making an apple crumb and a pumpkin pie today! Yum!

I'll trade you a piece of the apple crumb for a piece of the strawberry!

I got a free sample of pumpkin pie at the market. Yum yum.
Happy Turkey Day!

I bought 2 pumpkin pies and some pecan tarts at the grocery last night. What is this "making pies" that so many of you speak of?

Oh, and I use spray whipped cream. I'm guessing that's considered worse than Cool Whip?

Oh! Happy Thanksgiving, Swami!

I will not be making any pie.

Whipped Potatoes, yes
Yams, yes
Green bean caserole, yes
Broccoli caserole, yes
Iced tea, yes

Pie, no.

And I'm only making enough food for the six people who will be in attendance. *evil grin*

Swami, did you see the current issue of Newsweek?

I have a pumpkin pie in the oven now. I accidently put 1.2 tablespoon of salt in instead of 1/2 teaspoon...ooops. I added more sugar. I tasted the liquid and it was not bad. *crosses fingers*

After this one is done we as a family are making the apple pie. I am making the crust with Belle and Jack and giving them some to make little pies with. Apple pie is my specialty and favorite although your strawberry sound delicious.

Too bad we can't all have an online pot luck party that we really get to taste everyone's goods!

Well a potluck sounds great to me, Zombs. I hear Boo has lots of leftovers, maybe we can do a Day After thing?

Pumpkin pies are done - strawberry is almost done. I have to make 2 pumpkin pies because Mr. Swami can't wait when he sees a pumpkin pie; it triggers his eat-or-die-trying instinct. So if I make 2, one will be uncut for the table tomorrow.

I saw the newsweek, Puffy, thanks. Such articles are always very interesting/depressing for me. What depressed me the most was the phone calls from elderly parents who have kids needing 24/7 supervision - and no idea what will happen to their kids when they (the parents) die. Tom has a Simple Plan. Outlive Max. Really, it's the most practical option out there right now.

*thinks of strawberry pie to get undepressed*

I was thinking of an on-line potluck party, too. Sounds fun!
