I was out in the garden for about 1 hour this morning & didn't realize how badly the gnats were biting me. I was looking & facing down so they got the back of my neck, my head, my ears... Now I'm scratching like crazy & making my neck bleed. And my back is starting to itch. Stupid.freaking.gnats!
*skritch*
*scratch*
*cry*

Between the dry weather and now this, I have a feeling you shouldn't have put in a garden this year.
I don't put in gardens. My problem is the 15 huge flowerbeds I established when I had better knees. Mostly they are full of perennials but need some maintenance yo look good.
I let 2 of them go wild last year and I was going to let another big one go this spring but yesterday I caved and cleaned it up.
No gnats here yet, but the mosquitoes are starting to arrive.
We had killer midges this year. Millions of them boinking all day, then heading into the shade on front porches.
As soon as we would open the door they would swarm up noses, in mouths, eyes, GACK! It was awful.
They seemed to have disappeared but man-o-man, it was bad.
At least they didn't bite.
*hands Swami a back scratcher*
