I even had a topic in mind but then I wandered off. So topics:
Ants. Spring is waking up the insects even though it is still unseasonally cold. Thus I have little ants invading the downstairs bathroom. I think they come in where the pipes exit the house from the basement - which is directly below that bathroom. Ant traps are now in place.
Spiders. I had a total freak-out moment this weekend when I threw back the bedcover and a little spider scuttled across the bed! That's nightmare stuff! So I called Mr. Swami and we moved the bed and found where the spider had run to hide & he killed it. Stupid. Freaking. Spider. I had the window cracked open and the spider was able to squeeze under the pop-in screen or something, right into our warm bedroom! Now I can't get into bed without a full scale spider search.
Boats. We have decided to sell ours and buy a little off-road vehicle instead. We are kind of vague on just what we'll get, but DS is not much interested in boating on our river anymore and neither are we. Craig's list here we come!
Kids. My oldest DD is mad at me (again). Basically because she thinks I am not financially generous enough to keep bailing her out. It's a long, sad story.
Jobs. I applied for another little job to add to my stable of part-time jobs. Most of my stuff I do from home, but this job would involve having office hours twice a week. So I'd have to talk to people at their convenience and stuff. I'm so used to totally controlling my own time, lol.
Lunch. I haven't had breakfast yet so I may segue directly into an early lunch. In this case, that means coconut masala chicken and rice. I think the BLT salad middle DD made last night is all gone.
Dinner. More masala chicken. I made a huge big pot with some BOGO chicken thighs!

On my mind today: trying to find a bathing suit and remembering to call to see if I have jury duty tomorrow.
On my mind: Drivers that drive 55 mph on the highway. Are you one of them? I know it's the speed limit and all, but 60 has been the generally acceptable speed to drive for a long, long time. However, with gas prices climbing, everyone must be dropping back. Yet, that doesn't explain why nobody seems to be using cruise control these days. *selfish grumble*
Ooops, I meant to respond to some of your things.
1) Insects: We have some ants starting to surface. I hate them so much. Chris sprayed the outside perimeter of the house a few weeks ago. Hope that helps.
2) Toys: Chris thinks we need any and all toys. I know we wouldn't use them much. We traded his pistol for a little tiny fishing boat, so that was ok with me. However, I see no reason for an ATV in our lives. We only have five acres.
3) Thankless children: My boss is in a similar situation. Her husband's daughter is living in their rental property in Australia. So, for the last three years they've lost about 50K by letting her live there. But she's depressed and can't work. *eye roll*
4) Food: Any leftover chicken? It sounds yummy. A BLT (not a BLT salad) sounds REALLY good right now. My chives and rhubarb and huge, so it's reminding me that good produce season is near!
Yikes! The spider thing freaks me out. I have never used tucked in sheets on my bed for that very reason. I need to see all four corners of the bed before I get in.
When we get ants in the bathroom, I leave them there because I found when I chased them away, they'd pop up somewhere else (like the kitchen).
I think you go through the same thing with older DD as my parents do with my younger DB. *sigh*

I hate!!!!! when people drive the speed limit.
I could not read your part about spiders. I saw that word and cried and moved along to you being a cheap Mom. *grin*
Usually I drive at least 5 mph over the speed limit. Generally closer to 10 I guess. I don't pay that much attention to speed limits. :) And I will always "go with the flow" on busy highways.
With one exception. There is a small town South of me that appears to fund their entire municipal budget on speeding tickets. Day or night, they are lying in wait. (This is Bayport, Kim, in case you drive through that town.) The cops are mostly big city rejects with attitude problems. You will get a ticket if stopped; no exceptions. If you argue you will wind up in handcuffs; no exceptions.
