This time I burned him. He still loves me, but he's just -you know - more careful now.
Last week I impulse-bought a lovey new waffle iron, after not using one for years and years. And today (Sunday) he was looking forward to homemade waffles. Since waffles cool quickly I decided to warm our plates in a 200' oven, something I virtually never do.
When the last waffle was cooked (2 waffles each) I put the hot plated waffles on the kitchen counter and called Mr. Swami to come and get his plate. We like to eat Sunday breakfast at the little conference table in our office, so we each carry our own food and coffee in.
I didn't realize I had forgotten to warn him about the hot plates until he picked his plate up, yelled "!!!Yeow!!!Argh!!!Jesus!!!" and promptly slammed it back down while simultaneously jumping up and down. Then he ran up and down the hall flapping his hands in agony. Oops. Poor guy. I have become a danger to live with, I guess.
I put butter and a generous sprinkle of powdered sugar on my waffles. Mr Swami put raspberry jam and Mrs. Buttersworth syrup and powdered sugar on his. It was probably some kind of delayed shock topping reaction.

*smoooches Tom's bobo*
Let me guess, you were daydreaming about twin Norse Gods, right? *grin*
The only time I have homemade waffles is when I'm at a hotel that gives complimentary breakfast. They often have the waffle makers in the buffet line and you can make your own waffles. Yum.
I thought you were going to say you put the butter on his burn.
Poor Mr. Swami.
SOrry, but I just had to laugh at the visual I got of Mr. Swami running up and down the hall flapping his hands. Are you sure it wasn't some new, bizarre mating ritual?
Old age will not be pretty in your house, will it?
Did you just up Mr Swami's life insurance policy and forget to tell him? *grin*
Poor Mr Swami.
I think that as punishment Mr. Swami should send you to Canada to make waffles for me.
I tagged you on my blog because Silvergirl tagged me first.

LOL, and poor Tom! We have waffle makers (2 of them) but while on vacation, we encountered one of those belgium waffle makers at a hotel breakfast , and DH said maybe we should get one of those, because it beeped at you when it was done. Those waffles are good, but not on my diet. Maybe I'll concoct a more healthy recipe, though using eggbeaters and buckwheat.
Ouch! Poor Tom.
