I just tried to activate a Sears Mastercard. Some credit cards let you activate them with a minimum of fuss and stupid messages. Some have more messages or even want you to talk to a live person. This card? The canned messages went on and on and on and on. Like I'm going to sit here and listen to endless stupid messages and say "yes" into the dead air if I want a stupid special offer or nothing if I don't.
I hung up and shredded the card. I can be so decisive at times.
I have two credit cards I use regularly. One pays a 2% or 2 & 1/2% (I forget which) dividend on everything. The other gives me a 5% dividend on gas and car services. I like dividends. I cash them in around Christmas time.

I'd have given up also.
We have a AAA Visa Card so we get some sort of discount on gas.
LOL, that's exactly what I'd do! I hate it when merchants tick me off.

I went to go to a Ben Moore store with you. We can get sample paints and go crazy. (And maybe you can make us some popovers for a snackie)
We have torn up all of our credit cards that aren't eith Visa or Mastercard. They have much better percentage rates than the store's credit cards.
I am about to pay off all of mine, and I'm cutting them all up except for one that I will need for work, etc.
We got an erroneous charge on our credit card (like that: erroneous). So we had to cancel it.
