Evidently, when your child is being unschooled he has time to do educational stuff like march on the state capitol. See what a nice tree-hugging liberal my grandson is growing into? He designed a pretty nice sign too.

In other news my son had his high school graduation last night. I don't have pictures down-loaded yet but he looked very handsome. Today I am taking him out for a pizza lunch, part of our continuing Wednesday Pizza summer lunch dates. (He eats pizza, I try to find anything else on the menu.)

Hey! Does that mean you are one of dem dere liberals?
I am somewhat to the left of traditional liberals, at least on social issues.
Oh heck. That's amazing. They really are hippies, huh?
He's such a cutie pie in the picture below!
Hooray for shit-disturbing tree-huggers!
Nice polar bear.
*sits with Swami*
I looked at his butterfly picture too and he is so handsome! Beautiful skin and eyes! Wjhat great memories he is making!
Congrats to DS! Does he like the regular pizza too? I remember he loves the frozen pizza right?
Mmmm...now I want some pizza.
Heh...that picture could be from Lost.
Thanks for the garlicky smooch over there! I've been a little absent lately! Busy with my sister and new nephew! I'll have to get a pic posted!
What is "unschooling" ?
Mom2, I blogged about unschooling on May 14, here:
http://swamistories.blogspot.com/2007/05/unschooling.html
Basically, it is kind of que sera, sera home schooling with minimal actual bookish instructions and lots of child-centered and child-led experiences. And we all know that most 6 year-olds are just dying to march on a state capitol.
I am not entirely thrilled with this schooling method. He's a bright kid; he can read, write and do simple math - so he's okay for a few years, but eventually someone has to teach him the hard stuff. I don't know how this will happen.
What's up with the bear?
Congrats to your son. That's wonderful!!!
Global warming is melting the arctic ice so much that Polar Bears have lost most of their hunting habitat and are expected to go extinct (in the wild) within a decade. (I'm not sure if they breed in captivity or not - I think so.)
Save the world, save the Polar Bears.
This has something to do with LOST, doesn't it?
